At this point, it's easier to answer why not do it. You have heard of the countless labor violations[1], the inhumane work conditions[2], people dying in factories and their co-workers being forced to continue working[3]. You know what is referred to, just when hearing the words "pee-bottle"[4]. But as if all of that wasn't enough, Amazon keeps giving us more and more reasons to boycott, even as it keeps increasing its influence on all of our lives.
From destroying small bookstores[5] to closing down shops all over every city[6], Amazon is doing its best to become a one-stop-shop for all your anti-social shopping needs. You can pay to never leave the house again, with Amazon's own pay-service. And while you're staying home, watching your favorite streamer on Twitch, reading on your kindle, or binging another mediocre show on Prime Video, Alexa is already listening[7] for what else you could need. Amazon is already there, embedded in every aspect of your life. And everything you give to it, it invests in the widening of its influence, its infrastructure, its market share.
In 2021, Amazon decided destroying people's lives by secretly undermining every aspect of them is too suble. Instead, it partnered with Google to build the tech infrastructure which allowed Israel to conduct this genocide in the first place[8]. We are talking about the infamous Project Nimbus, which was acquired by Israel through a $1.2 billion contract. Collecting data on a whole country, a whole people, takes space. It takes computing power. That's what Project Nimbus provides[9]. Trough that, Israel can spy on and target specific people, even sending drone strikes. A one-stop-shop for Israel's genocidal needs. Amazon learned it from us. If it's convenient, we'll buy it, and we won't ask questions.
