What we stand for

Amazon BlackOut is a campaign that invites people to delete their Amazon accounts, with the aim of exerting economic pressure on one of the biggest tech giants.

Amazon reportedly has strong economic ties with the genocidal[1] state of Israel. Technology has been used for years to spy on Palestinians[2], but it only escaleted from there, as reported by Francesca Albanese in "From economy of occupation to economy of genocide"[3]. It is highly suspected that the core tech infrastructure provided to the Israeli Ministry of Defense by Amazon and Google through Project Nimbus is directly used as a military weapon for Israel's genocidal operations in the Palestinian occupied territories[4].

Our campaign aims to obtain a significant worldwide drop of Amazon accounts on the same day, creating a strong, economic signal that will not be ignored by Amazon and all other parties economically involved with Israel. Through the BlackOut, Amazon's ex-customers are demanding the tech giant to re-consider its ongoing support of Isreal, to ultimately end the genocide and apartheid of the Palestinian people as well as the illegal occupation of Palestine.

Through this economic signal, Amazon BlackOut and all its participants demand Amazon to put pressure on Israel to:

  • Stop the apartheid, discriminatory and genocidal operations (military or civil) towards Palestinians anywhere in Palestine and Israel.
  • End the illegal occupation of the historical Palestine, now occupied Palestinian territories
  • Return any illegally stolen land or property to the Palestinians who have been robbed
  • Help with the reconstruction of life in Palestine, by any means and to a significant extent

and moreover cut all ties with the state of Israel and urge any other Amazon business partner to do the same and all of the above.
